报告人简介：
Yi Li is an affiliated Researcher in Guangdong University of Technology, and CEO and co-founder of Robot Training Academy, Washington DC. He was a Senior Researcher at NICTA (Australia) from 2011-2015. He received his PhD from the ECE Dept. at the University of Maryland at College Park. He was the recipient of the Future Faculty Fellow award at University of Maryland from 2008-2010, received the Best Student paper of ICHFR, and the second prize in the Semantic Robot Vision Challenge (SRVC). He co-organized the first two DeepVision workshops in IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, and served the Area Chair of IEEE Winter Conference on Applications of Computer Vision in 2015 and 2016. His recent areas of interest include autonomous driving, robotics, and deep learning.
报告摘要：
1、Robots for Home
Abstract: In this talk, I will describe the recent advance of consumer robots, particularly in the area of household robots. The key issues in household robots include the hardware setup and calibration, the perception of the indoor environment, the modeling of the household objects, and the methods of grasping objects. I will present one of the prototypes we are developing, and the current limitations by hardware and software.

Abstract: You are a graduate student. You must write papers. You may need to write it in English. How? This is a big question. In this talk, I will focus on a seemingly easier question: how to write the first paragraph? I will give some examples how to polish it from your initial ideas and how to make it appealing to the reviewers.
